39. rebuilding jerusalem

God's people once lived in a beautiful city 🌆 called Jerusalem. They had a special temple ⛪️ where they worshiped 🙇♂️ God and a strong wall that kept them safe. But something sad 😞 happened - mean 😠 kings from a faraway land called Babylon came and destroyed their city. They knocked down the walls, 🧱 burned the temple, 🔥 and took many people far away from their home. 🏡
After many years of being away, a king 👑 named Cyrus made a special announcement. 📣 He told God's people they could go back to their home 🏡 and rebuild their city! 🏙️ Two brave leaders named Ezra and Nehemiah helped lead the people back. Ezra was a teacher 👨🏼🏫 who loved God's special book 📖 and wanted to help people follow God's rules. Nehemiah was like a brave captain 👨✈️ who knew how to organize people and make plans.
When they arrived in Jerusalem, the city was broken 😞 and sad. 😢 The walls were destroyed, and everything was a mess. But they didn't give up! Nehemiah looked around and made a big plan. He divided the people into groups, and each group had a special job. But it wasn't easy. Some mean 😡 neighbors didn't want them to rebuild. These neighbors tried to stop them and make them scared. 😳
But Nehemiah was super smart. 🧠 Half of the people worked on building, and the other half stood guard with big spears and bows ⚔️ to protect everyone. The workers held their tools ⚒️ in one hand and kept a weapon 🗡️ in the other hand. They were ready to defend their home! 🏡
The people worked hard 😅 from sunrise 🌄 to sunset. 🌅 When the sun was hot, 🥵 they kept working. When they were tired, 🥱 they kept working. They believed God was helping them, and that gave them courage.
Finally, after many months of hard work, 😓 the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt! 😁 The walls were strong and tall. 🧱 The temple ⛪️ was fixed. The people had a big celebration! 🥳 They sang songs, played music, 🎵 and thanked God for helping them. 🙌
