Jesus and his friends were walking 🚶 to the big city 🌆 of Jerusalem. When they got close to the city, Jesus stopped and turned to two 2️⃣ of his disciples. "Go into the village ahead," Jesus said. "As soon as you get there, you'll find a young donkey 🫏 that no one has ever ridden before. It will be tied up, 🪢 waiting. Untie it and bring it to me. If anyone asks why you're taking the donkey, 🫏 just tell them 'The Lord needs it' and they will let you bring it."

Just like Jesus said, his disciples found 🕵️‍♂️ the little donkey 🫏 exactly where he told them it would be. They brought it back to Jesus, and they put their coats 🧥 on the donkey's back to make a soft seat for Jesus to sit on.

As Jesus rode the donkey 🫏 into Jerusalem, more and more people noticed him coming. They got super excited! They had heard about all the wonderful things Jesus had done - how he helped sick 🤒 people get better, ❤️‍🩹 how he was kind 👍 to everyone, and how he taught people about God's love. ❤️ 

The crowd grew quite large. Some people ran 🏃🏻‍♀️💨 to nearby trees 🌴 and cut down big, green palm branches. They laid these branches on the road to make a special path for Jesus. 🌴 Others took off their coats 🧥 and spread them on the ground too, like a colorful carpet for the donkey 🫏 to walk on.

Everyone 👥 was 🗣️ shouting: "Hosanna! Hosanna!" (which means "Save us!" and "Hooray!"). 🙌 They called out "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" and "Blessed is the coming kingdom!"

The people knew Jesus was special ✨- He was the king 👑 God had promised to send. But He wasn't like other kings who rode on big horses 🐎 and wore fancy crowns. 👑 Jesus was a humble king, riding on a gentle donkey, 🫏 coming to show everyone God's love. 💕 

Even the children 🧒 👧🏼 were there that day, waving palm 🌴 branches and singing 🎶 songs. It must have been amazing to see Jesus smile 😊 at everyone as he rode past! The air was filled with joy 🥹 and celebration 🎊 as people welcomed Jesus to Jerusalem.
