62. mary and martha

Jesus was walking 🚶 to a charming little town called Bethany. In this town lived three 3️⃣ very good friends of Jesus - two sisters named Mary and Martha, and their brother Lazarus. They were always happy 😊 when Jesus came to visit their house. 🏡
When Jesus arrived, Lazarus probably gave his friend a big hug, 🤗 while Martha quickly went to the kitchen. She wanted to make the most delicious dinner 🍲 for Jesus. She started chopping vegetables, 🥕 baking bread, 🥖 and getting all the plates 🍽️ ready. There was so much to do.
Mary was excited 😆 too, but she did something different. She sat down on the floor right next to Jesus's feet. 🦶 She looked up at Him with a big smile 😊 and listened to all the wonderful stories and teachings 👨🏼🏫 He shared. Jesus was the best storyteller!
Poor Martha was getting tired 😪 in the kitchen. She could hear everyone talking and laughing 🤣 in the other room while she worked and worked. 😓 She was feeling a little upset 😠 that no one was helping her.
Finally, Martha couldn't wait 🕰️ any longer. She went to Jesus and said, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Please tell her to help me!" 😠
Jesus looked at Martha with kind eyes 👁️ and said gently, "Martha, Martha, you are worried 😧 and upset 😢 about so many things. But only one thing is really needed. Mary has chosen what is better - to spend time with me and listen 🎧 - as this won't be taken away from her."
