One day, Jesus and his mother Mary were invited to a very special party - a wedding 💒 celebration! 🥳 The bride 👰♀️ was wearing her prettiest clothes, and there were lots of happy people dancing 🕺 and laughing. 🤣 The hosts had prepared yummy 😋 food like bread 🥖 and fruits, 🍉 and everyone was sharing special grape juice 🧃 for adults (called wine) 🍷 to celebrate the new family.
The party was supposed to last for many days (that's how they had parties 🎈 back then!). But in the middle of all the fun, Mary noticed something worrying. "Oh dear," 😳 she whispered to Jesus, "they've run out of drinks 🍷 for all their guests!" This was very embarrassing 🙈 for the wedding family because they wanted to be good hosts to their friends.
Jesus looked around and saw six 6️⃣ enormous stone jars. 🫙 These jars were so big that a small child 🧒 could hardly wrap their arms around one! They were usually used to hold water 💧 for cleaning, and each one could hold about 20-30 gallons of water.
"Fill those jars 🫙 with clean water," 💦 Jesus told the helpers. They worked hard, 😰carrying water 💧 from the well until all six 6️⃣ jars 🫙 were filled right up to the top. Then Jesus said, "Now dip your cup in and take some to the person in charge of the party."
The helpers must have been confused - they knew they had just poured plain water 💦 into those jars! 🫙 But they did what Jesus said. When they scooped out the liquid, something wonderful had happened. The water had changed into the most delicious wine 🍷 anyone at the party had ever tasted! 😋
The person in charge of the party was so surprised! 😮 He went to the groom 🤵🏻 and said, "Usually people serve their best drinks at the beginning of the party. But you saved the very best for last!" 🙌
Only the helpers who carried the water 💦 knew what Jesus had done. This was Jesus's very first miracle ✨- a special way he showed people that God's love ❤️ can make amazing things happen. He turned ordinary water into something extraordinary!
