66. Jesus clears the temple

One day, Jesus and His friends walked up a big hill to visit God's special house, called the temple. ⛪️ The temple was a beautiful 😻 building with tall columns and shiny gold decorations. It was supposed to be a peaceful ✌️ place where people could talk to God and learn about Him. 🙏
But when Jesus walked through the temple gates, He saw something that made Him angry. 😤 Instead of people quietly praying, 🤲 the temple courtyard was noisier than a zoo! 🦁 There were people selling doves 🕊️ in cages, and others had set up tables where they were counting and trading money. 💰 Some people had even brought sheep 🐑 and cattle 🐄 inside. The noise of animals 🐐 bleating, coins 🪙 clinking, and people shouting 🗣️ filled the air.
Jesus knew this wasn't right. 🤦♂️ So Jesus spoke in a loud, strong 💪 voice, 🗣️He said, "My Father's house should be a house of prayer. 🙏 But you have turned it into a zoo full of animals 🐮 and thieves!"
Then Jesus stormed through the courtyard and flipped over the tables 🔄 where people were exchanging money. 💰 The coins 🪙 scattered across the floor. He untied the animals 🐑 and set them free from the temple, ⛪️ and He told the dove 🕊️ sellers to take their cages away. All the people who were selling things quickly gathered their belongings and left the temple.
After everyone left, people who were sick 🤢 or couldn't walk came to Jesus in the temple. ⛪️ There were even children there who sang, 🎤 "Hosanna! Praise to Jesus!" Jesus helped the sick people and blessed the children, showing everyone that the temple was meant to be a place of prayer, 🙏 healing, and praising God. ☺️
