52. a paralyzed man is healed

One sunny 😎 day in a town called Capernaum, Jesus was teaching 👨🏼🏫 inside someone's house. 🏡 The news 📰 spread quickly that Jesus was there, and soon EVERYONE in town wanted to see him! People were squeezed into every corner of the house. They were standing in the doorway, 🚪 peeking through the windows, 🪟 and crowding around outside, all trying to hear 👂🏻 what Jesus was saying.
In the same town, there was a man 👨🏻 who couldn't walk at all. 🩼 He had never been able to run and play or even stand up. All day long, he had to lie on a mat 🛏️ because his legs 🦵 didn't work. But he had four very special friends who loved 🥰 him very much and took care of him.
These friends had heard about Jesus and all the amazing 🤩 things he could do. "Jesus can help our friend!" they said to each other. "Let's take him to see Jesus!" So they carefully picked up 🆙 their friend on his mat, 🛏️ each friend holding one corner.
But when they got to the house 🏡 where Jesus was teaching, 👨🏼🏫 they couldn't get anywhere near the door! 🚪 They tried saying "Excuse me" and "Please let us through," but there were just too many people. What could they do?
Then one of the friends had a very brave and creative 💡 idea. "Look!" he said, pointing up. 👆 "We can go up on the roof!" In those days, houses had flat roofs with stairs 🪜 going up the side. So these determined friends carried their friend up the stairs to the roof!
The roof was made of tiles and branches. Very carefully, the friends began moving the tiles and making a hole 🕳️ in the roof. Some dirt probably fell down on the people below! Everyone inside looked up, 🆙 wondering what was happening.
Then, the four 4️⃣ friends took some strong ropes 🪢 and very carefully began lowering their friend down through the hole. 🕳️ They had to work together and be very careful. Down, down, down went the mat, right through the roof, until their friend was lying right 🛏️ in front of Jesus!
Jesus looked up at the hole 🕳️ in the roof and saw the four faithful friends. He looked at the man 👨🏻 on the mat and saw how much he wanted to be well. Jesus wasn't upset about the hole in the roof at all - instead, he was happy 😊 to see how much these friends loved 🥰 their friend and how much they trusted Jesus to help.
With a kind and loving 🥰 voice, Jesus said to the man, "Your sins are forgiven, and you can walk again!" Suddenly, the man felt strength in his legs 🦵 for the very first time! He slowly stood up 🧍🏻♂️ - he could walk! 🚶 He could jump! 🕺 He could dance! Everyone watched in amazement as he picked up his mat and walked right out the front door, praising God with every step. 👣
All the people were so excited 😆 they could hardly believe their eyes! 👀 They said, "We have never seen anything like this before! This is amazing!" The man's four friends were overjoyed 😁 that their creative plan 💡 had worked, and their friend was now healed.
