One sunny 🌞 Sabbath day in Jerusalem, Jesus and his disciples were walking 🚶 along the busy streets. 🌆 They came across a man sitting by the road. This man had been blind👨🦯 since the day he was born. He had never seen the bright blue sky, the fluffy white clouds, or even his own mother's smile. 😊 Every day, he would sit by the road and ask kind people to help him with food 🥘 and money.💵
The disciples were very curious about the blind man. 👨🦯 They asked Jesus, "Teacher, 👨🏼🏫 why was this man born blind?" But Jesus had a special plan. 📝 He wanted to show everyone just how much God loves ❤️ and cares for all people.
Jesus walked over to the blind man. 👨🦯 He bent down and scooped up some dirt from the ground. Then, He spit on the dirt and mixed it with His hands 🙌 until it became soft, squishy mud. Very gently, Jesus put this mud on the blind man's 👨🦯 eyes. 👀
"Now," Jesus said, "go wash 🧼 your face 👨🏻 in the Pool of Siloam." The Pool 🏊♂️ of Siloam was a special pool of clean water 💦 in Jerusalem where many people went to wash. 🧽 Even though the blind man 👨🦯 couldn't see 🙈 where to go, he believed in Jesus and asked for help to find his way to the pool.
When the man 👨🏻 got to the pool, 🏊♂️ he bent down and splashed the cool water 🚿 on his face, washing away all the mud. As soon as the mud was gone, his eyes 👀 began to work! For the very first time in his life, he could see everything around him! He saw the sparkling water 💦 in the pool, the bright sunshine, 🌞 and all the smiling ☺️ faces of people nearby.
The man 👨🏻 was so excited! 😆 He ran 🏃🏼♂️💨 through the streets, telling everyone he met about what Jesus had done. "I was blind," 👨🦯 he shouted happily, "but now I can see! 👁️ Jesus healed me!" Some people could hardly believe it was the same man - but it was! His friends and family were amazed 🤩 to see him looking at them with his new, seeing eyes. 👀
